Wow!

I don't know the circumstances behind the sales, but I am sure it is not his first wish. He sure has had a successful life time of hunting that most of us dream about. Anyway, good luck with the sales and I wish him well.

No circumstance fortunately! Just moving and wants to get rid of them. He certainly has, I would be lying if I said I wasn't envious of all the trips. Thank you!

What I appreciate is that he mounted many bucks that some would-mistakenly-not consider"trophies". We did the same. although did Euros.

The trophy is any animal fairly taken, and the memories of the hunt.

I have a friend that lived in texas-- he moved about 5 years ago and decided to sell all his Canadian, Alaskan, and African mounts (full body and shoulder) -- unfortunately the resale value on taxidermy is pretty low-- it was sad to see all those beautiful mounts sell for pennies on the dollar.

Good luck

I'm sure you are realizing there is really no value in old taxidermy work. Probably get more selling the antlers by weight…. Shipping costs will be high if you find a buyer. Big box stores are only interested in World Record quality stuff

If it's worth the effort to you can maybe trade them for a drink at a bar or dinner at a an outdoorsy restaurant. Euros or just skull caps can be turned into interior decor if you know the right high end designers…

You guys beat me to the point. I tried to sell off some of my mounts and found that they were essentially worthless.
Even the taxidermy buyers listed in the hunting magazines will give you pennies to the dollar.

Best of luck but nobody is going to give him $15,000 for a Brown Bear hunt....I bet that if he is even able to find someone who wants it, he won't get much more than a grand for it.
