My wife never asks what I spend on firearms or outfitted hunts. We've been happily married for a loooong time. LOL
I spend more money than my wife. She's quite the planner and have been managing our finances for 43+ years. We do a lot of travels and she plans all of them. I never ask how much we spend. She knows we do not do it if we cannot afford it. We both buy what we want without any issues.
My wife and I subscribe to the same. She manages the house financials (as well as everything else) and I tend to spend more than she does. If purchasing a firearm doesn't impact the family finances, it's fair game. She knows what they cost pretty much and surprised the heck out of me when she was real close to the total of the collection.

Pretty good joke. The really great thing about guns and hunting/reloading gear and supplies is you can actually sell it for as much or more than you paid for it a few years earlier. That is definitely not true, of furniture, vehicles, golf clubs, boats, fishing gear, or much of anything else I can think of that can be used for recreation.
Most guys on here here have bought and sold a lot of guns over the years, and I would bet they are even to ahead, depending on how long they kept them. The exception is custom rifles, those depreciate badly.
I know I have wasted a lot more money on frivolous stuff, than I ever spent on guns, but a guy has to have fun or what's the point. You only go around once, and it is a relatively short ride.

She had me setup using one of our checking account for all purchases associated with my hunting, fishing, reloading, etc., My wife have a fairly extensive collection of Lladros, Swarovski and Waterford crystals, and Spode.
