I am looking for some recommendations for powder for 30.06 hunting loads We moved to AZ, this summer from the midwest, so I get to hang up the slug gun. I have an early Rem 700 BDL, and an Browning Bar (older too but not as old) both are in excellent condition and very low round count through them. I picked up some IMR 4064 back when powder choices were very limited earlier in the year. I want to test out at least one other powder. The buddy, I bought the Rem from years ago said, it always shot best with heavier bullets. It has been more accurate then BAR. I really want to try and improve accuracy in BAR. I have a spine injury/nerve damage. Recoil can ruin my day very quickly now, sadly. I had limbsaver recoil pads put on both right before we moved. I plan on testing out 165's and 180 grain bullets with deer, javelina bear and elk being the game I intend to hunt. I have the Nosler Accubond's in 180 grain on hand for my testing. The rest I am open to some recommendations as well. Without breaking the bank. A LGS was asking $50.00 a box for some of other Nosler 308 bullets in 165/180. Needless to say, I passed. I have only been rifle hunting a few times. All, my experience is with a slug gun Thanks
