Loading .338LM

Hey @memtb ....no slight against Savage...I love my .338 Premier Elite ACC Chassis, 30" barrel, darn near my next favorite gun....it just doesn't shoot 285 anything. Now...300 gr.ATips and just about ANY 250 gr....1/5 MOA @ 300

Both my of .338s have the bolts on the wrong side and for these two I prefer it this way. My wrong side is most or your's Right Side! I have a Weatherby Mark V Tacmark, and the savage Elite Precision.

Hell all.

I just started my .338 lapua magnum reloading journey and it has been....extensively interesting to say the least. I saved money for a Christensen Arms Modern Precision Rifle, bought a Dillon xl750 reloading press, Peterson and ADG brass, H1000, Retumbo powder and a **** load of precision dies. Some with calipers so I can dial in seating, neck and shoulder bump as needed. I watch videos every night I search of videos that will tell me what I don't know and what I forgot. I have become knowledgeable on annealing, differences in brass, researching loading cheap and expensive brass, shoulder bumping(when it's needed and when it's not), neck tension, jumping from the o-jive to lands, ect. Yes, it has been a journey. I still will have questions and answers for anyone that needs help.

From experience a good load for 338 LM with 250gn scenar is
98.4gns of RE-25,thats with CCI MAG primer,Lapua brass and it gave me a 5 shot group 1/2 MOA at 100yds,MV3060fps and an ES20fps.I also used H1000 with 100.1gns it gave me MV3104fps and an ES23fps that's with the same primer and brass that's with the same primers and brass,5 shot group sub 1".

Nice....Savages don't like 285's so you're all set!

Last 5 shots today with 285's and IMR 7797 right at 2600fps. Hoping the RL33 is this good and a little faster once tuned. I'm running a very moderate load with plenty of room to go up. The RL33 groups are .7-.8 for five shots with no tuning and mag length bullet seating.
Up to 48 rounds down the tube. All my other X-caliber blanks sped up between 100-150 rounds.
