Add a tall Harris bipod and your about 9 lbs, and we always hunt w that style bipod attached. Put that bipod to my 10+lb rifles and I don't even want to carry it on long days hiking. So yeah, I guess the 8-9lb total weight (bipod included) is where I prefer to setup the guns we hunt with.
