Has anyone used the Kestrel Drop with Applied Ballistics app or any other ballistic apps?

I prefer a Kaindl Windtronic 2 type wind meter and dont like carrying a second handheld weather station.

With the Kestrel Drop I'm going to have to use bluetooth for gathering info. and I'm concerned it may not connect when needed.
Does anyone have any experience with the Kestrel Drop? Thanks
