Well you've started in the right place. There's a wealth of knowledge available on this site and a bunch of people willing to give you their opinions on top of their knowledge.

Where to start?....first determine what you want to do. For instance, do you want to hunt varmints, deer or something larger? Then start looking at the equipment you have. Ask some questions that will help you determine if the gear you have (or want) would be adequate for the task.
