been hanging around awhile really wanting to get into long range shooting in yalls opinion what the best out of the box shooter to start with rem 700, savage or browning or maybe something I haven't thought of?

Glad to have you on board. I like Remington but Savage is really popular I just don't own one. Y ou will not see much good about Browining on this site as I have observed.

Welcome to the site. The question is gonna open up a can of opinions but you will recieve very helpful information from the ones that shoot competition. And also from the ones that long range hunt. I don't do either right now but would love to shoot comp., I have a savage .308 with the heavy 26" barrel and it has been a tack driver right out of the box. I just mounted a leupold scope on it and that was all it needed.
