Greetings friend. Was in that area on riot control duty in 86. The locals were very friendly to us. We camped out in the showground area in Robertson for the several months we were there. We were sent there all the way from Bethlehem (2 Field Engineer Regiment). Unfortunately, I did not get to spend much time in the mountains except for doing road blocks in the mountain passes near Paarl and Montagu. My brother lived near to Paarl for many years and just recently moved closer to CT to cut down on the length of the daily commute.

I abandoned the motherland back in 2000, first to Germany and later coming to the USA.
