Planning a trip to hunt Wyoming Sage Grouse and blue grouse this Fall, never hunted them before.

I understand Sage grouse are in the valleys and Blue grouse are in the mountains, but that's about it.

Can anyone give me some tips for hunting these two types of grouse?

My hunting partner, Ginger is a 4 year old field bred English Springer Spaniel, experienced with Quail and pheasant, plus a little dove mixed in.

I am sorry but I forgot to ask.

Have you shot many coots or possums? Any recipe that works on coots and possums might be good enough to get your dog to eat the sage grouse. They are much like antelope in that they taste a lot better if given away to someone who you never expect to see again. Afterwards you can go to mass and do penance for being cruel to the guy you gave them to. If you are wishing your wife would give you a divorce you can take them home and bake them in the oven without turning on the vent fan.
