It's a gen 1. It's a perfectly good piece of equipment. The only difference is the gen 2 has slightly more ranging capibilities and has readout in Mils. The ballistic solving part is identical and provides solutions out to 1400 yards with corrections.

I hate to burst your bubble, but a brand new gen 1 can be bought for $1399 or less from many popular vendors. I paid what you are asking for the new gen 2 unit.
