A farmer went to market one day in his horse drawn cart and took his dog.

At a dangerous intersection just before town, a car collided with his cart in a horrific wreckage. The first responder was a policeman who asked him how he felt and if he was ok?

Several months later the farmer filed suit on the driver of the car for personal bodily injuries and in court, the Attorney for the driver of the car cross examined the farmer.

He reminded the farmer that the farmer had stated to the policeman on the site, that he never felt better in his life. He asked the farmer, why in the world would you sue my client after you told the policeman, you never felt better?

The farmer responded as follows:

When the policeman came to the site he examined my dog and shot him in the head.
When he next went over to my horse and judged his injuries severe, he then administered a single shot to his head as well.

When he came over to me and asked me if I was ok, and how did I feel, I felt I needed to
respond that I never felt better in my whole life!

WOW a somber story
When I lived in Canterbury, CT and had a small horse farm I would hitch up Mokey to our Buggy and drive 3 miles each way to the only grocery store. It was a two lane country road and people were courteous when driving their pickups/cars around us.
