It is 100% a blessing. I joked in the post about leaving my son at home, but all my children are attached to my hip in the outdoors and pretty much everywhere else for that matter. If it were not for Jesus, and not for me hearing the Gospel 7 years ago, my family would have most likely ended up broken. One of the many amazing things He changed in my heart, was turning my heart to my family. That makes the memories that much sweeter, because He is the foundation of them.

We have two boys both around 50. We have great memories of many outdoor things. What I wouldn't give to bring back just one of those days.

This happens to me frequently, like the old master fisher being last. I think it is the erratic slow jerky retrieve that works - small hands & short arms.

If I'm going to lose to someone fishing I want it to be my son I lose to, at least that way I'm getting to fish with him. When fishing with my buddies we make it a bit more interesting, $5 for the first bass, $5 for the largest bass, and $5 for the most if the smack talking starts the amount sometimes go up.
