7-08 has excellent bullet options and recoil is manageable. Less recoil than the 7mm mag. More energy/speed than the 308. Very effective on big game. I have taken elk out past 500 yards. Better bullet ballistics than the 6.5 cm. But not by much. Shot placement is the deal breaker. 6.5 PRC like all the wsm calibers suit someone’s preference. If the terrain and shots require LR shots 450 and beyond I pack my 300WM with 200gr Barnes LRX. Yes there are others who may disagree with my choice. But at 74 years old. A 100% Disabled Vietnam Combat Veteran, and 64 years of hunting experience. I believe knowledge, skills and abilities to get the job done over all those years has served me well. The Smoking lamp is lit, Smoke em if you have them! SEMPER FEDELIS
