So we want to go on an antelope hunt but don't really know were to start. We're all experienced deer hunters but have never hunted antelope. We would like to get in touch with a few folks that could point us in the right direction or give us some contacts. Thanks in advance.

Just look at the Wyoming G&F website, as that is the state to go pronghorn hunting. Buy a Preference Point before 10/31 so you'll have 1 PP going into the 2017 draw. All tags are by draw and what is left, if any, after the draw in June go on sale in July each year. The best thing to do is get a tag in the draw where you have a better chance of getting a tag where there is decent access to public lands. Just 1PP makes a big difference over people that don't have any. A PP costs $30 and you can only buy one in a calendar year and it's good for the draw the following year. It's either that or get a tag in the draw or as a leftover after finding a ranch that will allow access for a fee and most aren't cheap if you want to shoot a buck. Do your homework, as that is a big part of the fun in doing a western hunt and a pronghorn hunt in Wyoming is about as easy as you can start out with.

Decide if you would like to go thru the draw system or buy a antelope hunt from land owners or a license guide. I have only antelope hunted in New Mexico. You can go thru the draw system but if you live out of state you only get 16 percent of the tags 6 percent if you live outside the state and 10 percent if you have a contract thru a license outfitter. I prefer to buy a land owner tag or buy a hunt off a license outfitter. This way you can choose hunting ground that has no contact from state hunter(individuals that were awarded hunts thru the draw system. You also have the option to pick three straight days to hunt during the season. Sent link to there draw system.

There are no landowner or outfitter tags in Wyoming like there are in several states like NM. It is all draw and then if there are tags left they go up for sale first come first served in July.
