Hello,
I am resurrecting an older mountain rifle in 6.5 Remington magnum. It is a Mauser short action with 24 inch barrel and 1-10 twist. Obviously the norm today is 1-8 twist barrels forthis caliber and this barrel hates 130 gr. nosler Accubond, keyholing them badly at 50 yards. I have tried Hornady, 120 GMX, a Barnestype, and it seems to shoot almost incredibly flat in limited testing. This bullet should penetrate deeply and retain weight, necessary for the Barbary sheep I am going to hunt.
Anyone with experience with this bullet, on larger game? Let me know.
Gene S.
