The 2 1/2-16X do not have glass as good as the 4 1/2-30X50. I have three of the 4 1/2-30 and purchased four of the 2 1/2-16X. I sold the 2 1/2-16X. The glass in the 4 1/2-30X is as good as the Swarovski z5 5-25X and the Leupold VX6 4-24X52 in side-by-side comparisons on my optics chart.
Don't get me wrong, even the small ones are very good.
