Does anyone know if a Browning BAR in .338 Win is strong enough to handle the .338 EDGE if rechambered?

the browning BAR in a 338 win mag isnt capable of handling a 338 edge due to cartridge length.
the 338 edge is based on a 300 rem. ultra mag necked up to 338 the case length of the 300 ultra brass is 2.850 where as the length of the 338 win mag brass is 2.500 which makes the 338 edge brass roughly 3/8 of an inch to long to function in the BAR
hope this is helpfull

You might look at the 338 Ultra Mag .

It is .090 shorter than the 338 edge and .350 longer than the 338 Win Mag.

It might work in the Browning Mag.

The bolt face is the same as the Win and with normal Pressure loads bolt loading should
be the same.

Thanks, I was planning on using the new Berger .338/300 gr VLD. Is there any other semi-auto action that would accommodate the length of the EDGE/Berger combination, perhaps with a little machining?
