Busted mouth but plenty healthy. 392# robbed his last peach from the orchard last evening.

Peach bears are hard to beat. We kill a fair share of big bears this time of year, peaches and apples draw them in. Lots of tree damage and loss of fruit.

They like apricots as well but for some reason they didn't do much in our garden. We would have bears walking through our garden every night and the most they would do is eat the lettuce. They leave the carrots, tomatoes, beans and snow peas and walked right to the lettuce. The apricots, on the other hand, they would climb walls for. We only used a couple pails of the fruit for preserves and the rest we tried to give away because the bears would leave a mess in our front yard eating all the drops. Most of my friends use electric fences to keep them out but they weren't that much of a problem for us. The only time it gets scary is when it's a sow with a cub.
Take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning. You'll feel better, no problem.
