Still waiting for someone to not actually read the post and march on in here all in a huff with the “Young man (doesn’t matter how old the op is either) the eldm is not a hunting bullet, it’s a target bullet bullet, we use hunting bullets for hunting for a reason” bit….. Congrats on the shot, that’s a good one! There’s a difference between best shot and most satisfying for sure. I think my most satisfying was as a kid, I had one of those CO2 BB/pellet pistols, had tons of fun with it. Anyways…call it a fluke or a freak, definitely was a one-time only thing…but I honest-to-God shot a barn swallow out of the sky, once. If you know how tiny a barn swallow and how fast and erratic their flight is you know that this is an even bigger deal than just shooting any bird mid-flight.,,,I’ve missed flying barn swallows with a 12 guage in days since then so that says something. The other (ah, there’s many I guess) was back when my eyes were a bit better (I’m only 30 now but I’ve had glasses since I was 5, in the last few years I’ve noticed some pesky floaters that make locking on a bit harder), I was 19 I think, and plinking with dad’s marlin 336…not hunting. I taped a 6x6 inch piece of paper on a cardboard box and just for fun went back to 350 yards to see how close I could get with an iron sighted .30-30 (and the kind of sights that cover the enter target if you aim conventionally). I was over the moon when I discovered walking back downrange that I put all five Of the shots I took inside that square! Haven’t tried it since, gotta quit while I’m ahead.
