I read about Barrett's recent sale to an Australian company, and the head of that company loves the Fieldcraft and is planning to bring it back to life. Good news for the FC fans!

From what I've read about the Fieldcraft I really like the specs and I like the 7mm-08 so I think that would be a nice combination.
I do hope the Fieldcraft returns and we all get what we want.

Is there anything else you would settle on if you can't find a Feildcraft?
I looked at a review on a Kimber but the reviewers showed in many ways it's their Standard barrelled action in a CF stock.
I do believe the Fieldcraft was designed and engineered to be a scaled lightweight rifle to fit a niche market.
I've never handled one, but from what I understand the Fieldcraft wants to be a ULA/NULA. The problem is it can't.
If I were you and wanted to expedite the wait, I'd look for a Forbes or Colt Light Rifle in a caliber you like and send it into a guy that can still give it the Melvin treatment.
You don't really see the Fieldcraft on the secondary market much.
