Adhesives

I bumped a wood stock off the bench this week and broke a chunk off the toe. Pieces match up perfectly, but I'm unsure of what adhesive to use. I would normally use a 2 part epoxy, but I tend to have problems getting a good cleanup on any that oozed out.

Any recommendations appreciated,

Back in the day in high school woodshop, we would use Elmer's wood glue and clamps.
Not sure what would be the equivalent today.

I would think a good wood glue would allow a damp towell cleanup before it hardens. If you use epoxies for wood, there should be effective cleaning instruction from the mfr.

Dark Titebond, w/ clamps

Titebond- rubber bike inner tubes/surgical tubing work well for clamping odd shapes on stocks

Never thought of dark titebond. I have regular titebond and just found some dark brown powdered dye left over from a bedding job,
