They want to buy a rifle that will reach out and touch something with good accuracy from factory ammunition. They are for the average Joe hunter who just buys a rifle, gets it set up with a scope and buys his ammo from the LGS. I do not have a 7PRC but it is not because I don't want one, I just haven't found the right pile of gold at the end of the rainbow yet to fund the purchase. To many other things I need more at this time. I have a 6.5 PRC and absolutely love it, but not with factory ammo. I could not get my particular rifle to love either of the Hornady offerings so I started loading for it and now it is one of my favorite rifles. The 7PRC has its place but IMO it is not a replacement for the 7 RM, its just another offering that allows for shooting heavy for caliber bullets without a custom set-up. If your looking for a logical reason to get one you have already lost the battle. You buy guns because you want them not because you need them...........at least that's how I justify the expenditure to myself. [QUOTE="Allen Kitts, post: 3076862, member: 103317"] My take on this is that these are cartridges that Hornady is coming up with for the hunter that doesn't want to reload. They want to buy a rifle that will reach out and touch something with good accuracy from factory ammunition. They are for the average Joe hunter who just buys a rifle, gets it set up with a scope and buys his ammo from the LGS. Guys that reload just have another toy to play with that can be very accurate and a lot of fun to shoot.
