27" would be the minimum length for the ways the flutes are cut. They were cut by Brux, 6 straight flutes.
Current length is 29", so MAXIMUM barrel length would be 28", again, the minimum barrel length would be 27" or slightly less if a brake, tuner, or can was used End of the flutes is at 26". Basically, you are getting the fluting for free and no wait.
