[QUOTE="imyourhuckleberry, post: 2367097, member: 18206"] The 7mm-08 is a great round that offers very little recoil and great ballistics within its limits. I know this is a long range hunting forum but my brother dropped this little 13 pointer dead on its tracks, using a 140 Remington Core-Lokt round at 288 yards. He first spotted him Wednesday late in the evening at around 375 yards and as he was closing the gap it just got too dark to shoot it so he opted for the following morning. Got up early next morning just before sun up and walked a mile from where he had seen him and waited for sun up, well the rest is history. I personally have been using core-lot ammo for hunt for over 50 years, just an old dog that won't change what is reliable, even if there is better ammo out there.
