7 PRC bullet

I am working on some loads for a couple 7 PRC's and I would like some input on what other hunters are using for elk and bear bullets.
Both barrels have 1:8 twist so heavier bullets should not be an issue.

I just started using 180 bergers but I only hunt white tails. N570 was the ticket for my rifle. I am shooting the bergers at 3000fps, I got up to 3100ish but best accuracy was at 3000 (26in barrel).

175 LRAB have worked very well on many elk and deer for us in several different 7mm's out to 800 yards running them to 3000 fps plus. Have not had one fail to mushroom or come apart. Lung shots allways exit with good internal damage and far less blood shot than Bergers.

I will be trying my new 7PRC this fall with Berger 175 EH on a big bull hopefully. I settled in at 2930 velocity with 86 gr H1000 from 24" tube.
First time hunting with the 175 EH but have taken several bulls and bucks with the 180 vld and they have always been drt.

How many grs H1000? 66?

ha ha good catch ! It should read 68 grain H1000.
I think there would be a problem trying to use 86!

I couldn't get my rifle to group as good with 68 gr H1000 as I did with 64 gr. Probably rifle-specific, but try different loads in that ballpark and see what makes your rifle happy. Consider trying Retumbo as well, 68gr with Berger 175 EH and 195 EOL are performing beautifully with those combos.
