Building a new rifle need components and dies
Also would nt mind a few suggestions as to powder selection
If you can help that would be great
I'd like to find a couple of hundred cases
And of course dies.

[FONT=arial, helvetica][FONT=arial, helvetica]a few months ago I was doing what you are doing now

custombrassandbullets.com had some brass but don't have any now....they were the only ones so good luck with brass...I'd keep checking with them

dies are out there....I think I saw where you could get some "competition" type dies from Redding

Finding a smith with a chamber reamer was dificult...I custom ordered one from PT&G built especially for Berger VLD's

I did a lot of research on loads ..... somewhere in the 38-39.5 grain range of H 4350 seemed the be an overwhelming favorite for bullets in the 105 to 115 range

I gathered a lot of info and put it into a couple of "word" documents. If you send me an e-mail address I will send what I have to you. My gun is not done yet so I haven't actually started load development

Terry, you'll love your 6 XC. It may be more fun to shoot then your 7 LRM. I shoot a Gunwerks 6XC Carbon. I also have found best results with H4350. Shoot 39.5 gr topped with a 115 VLD. I settled on Forster dies with the Ultra micro seater. I have the David Tubb full size die but the Forster full size die the brass sizes perfect every time when I check it on my Sinclair Concentricity gauge. Those long bullets load straight with these dies.
I saw Bullets.com had some Norma head stamped 6 XC brass. I'm not sure there is a lot of difference in accuracy with my 22-250 sized brass and the Norma brass so wouldn't hesitate to use 22-250 brass.
I just tried Hybrid 100 powder and got pretty good results with 105 VLD's had a little left to right cross wind. Good luck Rick

what is the twist on your carbon wrapped barrel?

I'm wanting to make the 115 vlds work.......down range insurance so to speak. basically the same BC....with just a bit more weight

the reamer I ordered has a throat designed for the VLD's...so I'm optimistic

I should also say....and probably more importantly....I will use this gun mainly to hunt (lighter game and varmints)....so I want the terminal performance of the berger "hunting" bullets verus the "target" bullets

I was able to find 6xc dies on this very web site and believe it or not was able to find 300 rounds of virgin brass at a local gun show. Never would have thought that but i got lucky. I personally haven't been able to work with my gun yet but I have a buddy that uses 41gr. of Reloader 17 with a berger 105gr. and it shoots very well. Also I just called Supoir Shooting Systems yesterday and they just got in 1 million 115gr. Tubb bullets made by Seirra. Hope this helps you out and good luck.
