Daniel, Really depends on what you want to do with the rifle at 1000 yards. Any of the medium to large 6mm rounds set up in a fast twist barrel for the VLD or ULD bullets will perform very well at 1000 yards. I personally like a little more HP then the BR and Dasher at 1000 yards for use on chucks or other large varmints or predators. If your just paper punching anything will really work. I use a 6mm-284 for 1000 yard chuck hunting and have had great results with it. Compared to the larger rounds it will get blown around a bit more but in good conditions it will perform very well. In this size of a case I would recommend a 1-9 twist barrel for the 105-107 gr bullets. I also like the 243 AI and 6mm-06 chambering for serious 1000 yard work in a 6mm. I love 30" barrels and would recommend this barrel length as well if this will be a dedicated long range rifle. Good Shooting!! Kirby Allen(50)
