Few years ago 3 doe whiterail with same bullet from a 6.5 Needmore. Same results . A little less destructive than a Berger but I think Berger is built to come apart. [QUOTE="WYO300RUM, post: 2483092, member: 32631"] I should of said in last post that my 300 RUM now weighs 12.6 pds without bipod, sling or ammo. It was my go to rifle for elk and most anything. I put a 28 in. 5R varmit contour Bartlien barrel on it. I should of thought it out more and went carbon fiber. I'm going to take it with me to my Az. elk hunt in Nov. My CDS dial on it is set up for a Berger 215 load and shoots great to 600 yds. but also taking my C.A. Ridgeline in 6.5 PRC so when I hike about. It's dial is set up for 156 Berger. I'll be aiming for the crease with both 😉 I shot a buck here last year with 156 and it took top of heart off after going through front of chest. He was angling to my right. He went down right there. Shot two doe whitetail last year with 156 also. Both lung shots at 217 and other around 100. Both down right there. Both not real bad meat damage. Shot a buck in Ca. last Sept. With a 124 Hammer . I was impressed and minimal meat damage. The only animal I ever shot with a 140 HVLD in a 6.5x284 was a doe lope 2 years ago at 213 yds. I hit shoulder. I had to throw that whole shoulder in trash. My fault. A shot a doe whiterail same year with a Norma 156 Oryx bonded. Minimal meat damage. Same year 2 more doe lopes with 143 ELDX at 148 and 316 yds. Minimal meat loss on both. Few years ago 3 doe whiterail with same bullet from a 6.5 Needmore. Same results . A little less destructive than a Berger but I think Berger is built to come apart.
