I spent today doing some work on a load for my 6.5 PRC. I started with groups of 3 at a charge I was comfortable with.

ADG virgin
N565
CCI 250

3x 2.165 CBTO
3x 2.135 CBTO
3x 2.105 CBTO

I then determined 2.135 would be my start point based on target.

I then loaded the following

55.8 - 56 - 56.2 - 56.4 - 56.6 - 56.8 - 57 - 57.2 - 57.4

I was getting some crunch on 57.2 and I elected to stop at 57.4

Back to the range:
2791
2806
2791
2820
2827
2839
2845
2878
2877

I am new at this point but I think I see faint ejector marks at 57-57.4 but bolt operated fine. I tried to capture what I am seeing but maybe it's not coming through.

Questions:
Would you keep pressing for more fps?
Do you see concerns with these spent primers?
Any data spots jumping out on my ladder(55.8 and maybe 57.2 look interesting to me)?

I have a reference point on some custom ammo I was shooting last year. 2769fps and a CBTO 2.137. But I kinda want more juice:

Thoughts/opinions

There was another thread started about n565 with prc and it pressures out early with lower velocity if you want more your gonna want to try a different powder a lot of people like the rl26 or h1000 get good speed I am running ramshot magnum with 153 a tips and getting over 3000 FPS and have some 156 to try but haven't had a chance so if you want more speed try a different powder even n570 was getting better speeds from what I have read on here.

I can definitely throw some 26 at it and see what I get. Again new but any issues with temp stability? When I hunt it'll likely be 15-35 but here in Texas it's about to start warming up.

I bet someone will chime in on this topic and help ya out I am not sure and have never used it rl26 or looked into it. but it's a great group of guys on here. been helped a bunch so good luck

Also since 26 is hard to get right now my plan was to conserve the 8# I have for my 7 SAUM. In reality, once I have that built, the 6.5 will get fed 143eldx pills and take a sideline for white tails and target shooting.

I wanna squeeze the most out of the 156 since I'm already down the road with that bullet but was hoping to do so with the 565

My SA was 2.237" And 0.050" off lands. RL26 57.6 at 3,001' avg.
I won't be able to seat them that far out unfortunately unless I single feed. The longest I can get is right at 2.165-2.175 maybe. I'll give it a whirl with some 26 tho in the spirit of science

Yes when it heats up the RL 26 will build more pressure. I use it a lot but I just don't shoot over 80 degrees anymore with it. It's great in winter. Except in Deep South texas and it's the first of January and it's almost 100 lol. Killer year here

That's good gouge. I was thinking that would be the case after reading more on the powder. So I better get stepping is what you're saying. Could be 80 next week

RL26 was awesome in my xbolt when I had it.
57gr was 2970 FPS with a 26" bbl and adg brass. I had them seated at 0.109" which was mag length in xbolt.
One of the easier guns I've ever got to shoot was the xbolt.
