I'm building a 6.5-06 AI as well this year. In fact I got my reamer from Pacific Tool and Gauge yesterday. My Dies should be here in a week or so. I'm building off a Remington 700 ADL classic Deluxe that was a "Safe Queen" and it hasn't seen much use. I found a Stainless Shilen Select Match bbl for really cheap on Midway (it was a inventory reduction sale). It's a light varmit contour and will finish at 26". It'll wear the Factory stock (I'll be bedding it as well) and it will get a trigger job as well as blue printing. I hope to buy a Bushnell 6500 for it and get the test loading done for this fall. I wasn't really interested, so much, in top velocitys as I was in the fact it was something diffrent. I already have a .243 Win and a .243 AI, and I don't know any one here in Idaho that has a 6.5-06 AI. I'll be pleased if I can get 3200 FPS out of it. My .30-06 AI gets 3125fps with a 165g Sierra Gameking and 62g of H4350 with a 26" bbl. If I can beat that, I'll be happy. This will be a lighter gun than the .30-06 AI and I'll be shooting 120-130g bullets as the bbl is a 1-9" twist. It'll see use as a Deer/Antelope (if I draw) rifle and the .30-06 AI will be for Elk/Deer (when hunts overlap). Dan
