I have had this barrel for awhile, its a killer and one of my favorites, but its time to clean out the safe to make room for new projects. Could possibly be the perfect cartridge for young hunters.

Groups shown are with 55gr soft points at 3350fps from 100 yards, a 5 and a 10 shot group. If you stand on it with AA2200 powder 3650fps is doable with a 55gr. H322 has given the best accuracy and 2200 the best speed. I was able to get 90gr Seirra game changers up to 2900fps with MOA accuracy as well.

Barrel is a Stainless steel sporter weight using a Remage nut. 2 pounds 13 oz, .669" at the muzzle, 23 5/8" long, I dont recall the brand possibly a Douglas or Shilen. Unknown round count but those groups were the last loaded rounds I had and fired last weekend.

Redding 6 TCU Dies, that have been modified for some reason the full length die had the bottom cut off when I got them, they work for sizing the neck and partially sizing the body of the case. Most the the brass was fireformed in a form 223AI barrel that I had and then necked up. (I had good luck using Lee 223AI full length sizer die and a 6mm expander mandrel as well but those arent included)

All brass is fireformed some ready to load some just fired and decapped

Wow that is impressive velocity for a 90 grain bullet out of that cartridge. What twist is the barrel?

1:10 twist I believe.

223 cases deserve more credit for sure. I have a 24" 25-223 that shoots 85gr Nosler ballistic tips at just shy of 3100fps and a 110gr at 2700fps.
