Thanks. Do you think it's firecracking more or less than a normal barrel?I've got a 7 saum carbon in there 400mod and it shoots great. I haven't got enough rounds through it to know much yet but it is fire cracking pretty good after 400 rounds. Never ran hot and mild loads. We shall see. I'm hoping to get to 2000 rounds min
To be honest i don't have enough experience to answer that question without just pulling in out of my behind. This is my first 7 saum barrel and my first time using a bore scope. My 300 prc bartlein barrel has 100 or so less rounds than the saum barrel and appears to have about the same amount of firecracking roughly. It's not a 400mod barrel. I'm sure that the steel will last longer. It also cost more. I think it's worth it if it's a cartridge that you're gunna shoot a lot and is somewhat hard on barrels.Thanks. Do you think it's firecracking more or less than a normal barrel?
Sounds like it may be better with what you have to compare it to. I was looking at it for a 300RUM, seems it may be worth the extra money. To be honest i don't have enough experience to answer that question without just pulling in out of my behind. It very well may get you the extra little bit to make it worth doing one in 300 rum. Who's doing the machine work?Sounds like it may be better with what you have to compare it to. I was looking at it for a 300RUM, seems it may be worth the extra money.
I didn't even think of that, do you known if it requires special tooling? I was just going to have the same gunsmith, that I have been using. It very well may get you the extra little bit to make it worth doing one in 300 rum. Who's doing the machine work?
It does not. I would let the Smith know but many reports of easy machiningI didn't even think of that, do you known if it requires special tooling? I was just going to have the same gunsmith, that I have been using.
According to my smith that did mine it does machined a bit differently but should be doable by any smith. I believe it's a bit tougher in reamers.I didn't even think of that, do you known if it requires special tooling? I was just going to have the same gunsmith, that I have been using.
That would make sense, since it's supposed to be a tougher steel.According to my smith that did mine it does machined a bit differently but should be doable by any smith. I believe it's a bit tougher in reamers.
