338 dge and Vortex Viper opinions please?

I am having almost the exact same build done right now. did you get the 1000y F class barrel? Anyway looking forward to your review, I'm interested in the 24x PST

I am not sure what zeiss scope you are referring to, but if I have an EDGE and am going to be dialing my dope for 1000yards or better, I will be putting at least an NXS on it. Repeatable tracking is a must for longrange.
Also, is an extra 1/2-1 pound really an issue for a rifle like this?
