    Tilly gets it Again!

My wife would never let go of the button if I was wearing it. She likes watching people get tased after all.

    Another great loss for America.

What a loss. So sad he had no idea he was physically in trouble.

    Tilly gets it Again!

So sorry to hear Tilly got whacked again. I think the pup has learned this isn’t working out too good. Hoping the lesson is learned.

Scouting and camping this week, July 6-9, 2026

Been fishing around there for many years. Most of the elk I’ve seen in the summer have been higher up near Duck Creek but I’m sure they’ll be down lower for the rut. Plenty of deer and antelope where youre at. Good luck.

    Fire forming brass

I have a new build 6.5 GAP and 200 new ADG brass. My plan is to find a decent lower node, with seating depth and run them like I’m buying boxed ammo ready to go. It’s a test on whether it will act like good boxed ammo and give me acceptable accuracy for 1000 yards or less while forming my brass...

Sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong

Every year we saw a snake opening day of quail for 12 years straight. Even today, I find myself looking down, around objects, brush, anywhere a snake could lay outside of my vision. I’ve walked into overhanging branches, losing my hat, getting scratched up and probably kicking up deer, etc. My...

Sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong

Oh no. Shorts and flip flops both times. Now that I have snake PTSD, I’m at least using a flashlight while taking the garbage out. I do use snake chaps during the fall hunts but my powerful flip flops are my go to at home. I’m a knuckle head, I know.

Sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong

Glad your pup is good to go! We have 18 species of rattlers here in AZ. I’ve had one on the porch and one in the garage about 2 years ago. Too close for me inside city limits.

Turning Necks, Virign or 1x Fired?

I had a “no turn neck” chamber job on a 280AI. I was sending 2 out of 5 over the target or a few inches high. After looking for the culprit I couldn’t put a new bullet into a fired case easily. I needed to thin the necks down to get .0035 clearance on the diameter. These are .0125 thick necks...

CVA RECALL ALL PARAMOUNT TYPE RIFLES

That’s a weird recall. All of those unsafe conditions listed are user mistakes. Wonder if there is something else going on?

I am just going to post this here and let discussion flow....

And that’s why in the USA we celebrate our independence from England, 250 years later. I am genuinely sorry for this gentleman for no presumption of innocence, no trial and no jury of his peers even though he simply voiced an opinion to keep his country great. What a sad government they have.

How skilled are you at tracking?

I’m pretty good at finding them. Some can be tough and will stop bleeding but will lay down in heavy cover. Primarily on archery hunts, with marginal hits, can get tough. We’ve gone hours after daylight working them with many guys, and still lose them occasionally. I really dislike those that...

    TASMANIA

I bet you guys had a blast together! So glad you made it down there for one of those “immersive experiences “. It still is hard to wrap my head around such a target rich environment. No wonder Fordy has become an authority on bullet performance. Can’t wait to hear about Fordy’s new bullet.

    What if?

    280AI would work for me.

    Heavy for caliber vs lighter

I would say you are heading to a faster lighter mono bullet. At 500 yards, it’s going to perform. You will need to try them to see for yourself. Every big game animal I’ve hit has been impressive. 280AI 131 grain and 7RM 143gr. All are braked at this moment but will be using a suppressor soon.

    .280 AI

Re23 is the best powder and a mag primer. Will shoot monos very well and the heavier cup and core bullets. H4831 will be a good powder just not as fast as the double based Re powders. Mine is a SAAMI chamber so I opted to stay with 131-143 class monos. Shot a few deer and one bull elk so far. No...
