I hunted in Germany (Wild Boar, Deer etc.) & Canada (Antelope 8 x Trophy, Mule Deere Trophy 10x.

I normally hunt with my oldest son now, he is 38.

Our hunting guns are Mauser action 3006 with scopes. We have other rifles & shotguns, but were it matters, it's the 3006. Antelope, I have shot at 50 yards distance and 300. If I use more than one shot, I am angry.

My priority on (Alberta) WMU437 bighorn sheep is now at 28 and I am probably on this year or next. For the people not aware of this area, it draws 2x2 hunters each year for the license of one (each hunter) 5/4 ram.

My main interest at the moment is to plan this hunt for when it comes through.

We, my son and me, are also planning a trip to Namibia and/or South Africa for hunting.

Welcome from northern BC as a transplant from Alberta! I used to hunt bighorn in the general season in 438 right next to 437 and did a bunch of exploring there! If you get drawn you'll have to send me a message and I'll try to see if I can point you in a good direction for access and good glassing spots (if you don't already have a good idea of that ground).

Hello fellow hunters,

the drawing window has closed and I didn't apply this year because of one new hip (right side) and a rebuild knee (left side).

I did the 'priority only draw and I am now priority '29' giving me clear access next year for both seasons, late summer & early fall.

The plan is to do spotting this year in both season to see what we see. Then plan for next year.

Guiding runs around $9,000 without much of info on level of success rate or timing.

The bad part with this drawing system is that one is 30 years older than when one started to apply and I` tell you starting when you 20 makes the hunt with the age of 50 much easier then 72 or 73!

So, boys, start early!!!
