I wanting to get a harness that I can use to attach to my Kuiu pack that will support my rifle strapped to the pack and I was wondering what options that people would recommend and why. I am also interested in what products to stay clear of.

Check out the Kifaru universal gun bearer. Why? Because it works. YT has a few videos of it.

I've used the slik sling v2. Not a lot of use but worked really well on my elk hunt and is universal for use on all packs. Not sure how the newer v3 is though
 
I've been using the Kifaru for 10 years and almost love it. It is always in front of your face which you can adapt to, but in my case it interferes with glassing and is literally a pain in the neck. It was still better than fighting a 12# rifle on a rifle sling. I've since lightened up my rifle, but really want to try the SS V2. Looks very interesting. One thing for sure, I won't go back to a regular sling when I'm wearing a pack.

I think I've had mine for longer than 10 years. As per the link I provided in #2, the SS V3 was purchased in 2025.

The V3 strap system is better in my opinion, but the V3 cradle is a heavy dog. He needs to redo the bar in the V3 cradle.
 
Good point. I saw that in the video and thought it might be a little heavy. How heavy is it and does it make a difference in the big picture?

We use Kifaru Gun Bearer when walking in areas that we may need to take a shot. When hiking through an area we are not hunting or say hiking day before season opens we strap rifle tight up against pack.

Scrambling rough terrain with Kifaru have to be careful to prevent barrel from slapping you in forehead! It is still a good choice.

That was my thought as well I am getting gear ready for sheep hunt and am looking for something that will keep my rifle tight secure and against my pack.

As @David_h noted, for long hikes, I secure my rifle to my pack (configured to carry a rifle) when I am hiking to the hunting spot, and before I get to the hunting area, I move my rifle to a more ready position using either my pack with the Kifaru universal gunbearer or the SS V series.

I have V2, partner has V3. He complained when he put it on his pack and never said a word when hunting. So, I'd say not a whole lot. Kind of like felt recoil at the range vs hunting.
