Do you have to have hunting license in the south/east to hunt groundhogs?
Are all the tobacco road, bible-belt states no bag limit of them?
Same regulation and fee?

At least in WV you need a hunting license to hunt about anything. As far as I can see we don't have a nongame license like I do when I go to ID for rockchucks.
No bag limit, but that doesn't matter anymore since I've taken thousands since 1978. They are few and far between.
Don't know about other states.

The GH is classified as an unprotected mammal in MD. Hunting license not needed. Hunter orange is required though according to the law. May be hunted on Sundays, 365 a year.
I know PA used to require a hunting license for them but not sure about now.

You can find out by looking up the Hunting/Fishing/Trapping Regulations for every State you want to hunt in. Most States you have to have a Hunting License to hunt anything unless on your property, but then again, you have to look at the State Regs. I have a lifetime for GA, but no Chucks here except for a Rock Chuck (Whistle Pig in the South) here and there may be up North GA by the TN or SC Border Line.

General hunting license all that is needed in Virginia. No limit, no equipment or clothing requirements, other that during deer season. Too many coyotes and too few groundhogs now. Same situation as WV Hitman described in West Virginia.

PA requires a displayed hunting license and at least an orange hat. I think that I am the only hunter in the state that meets those requirements. :D
