Gotcha. Thing is as a manufacturer you cant directly control demand. you can only control supply. You could try and restrict the demand by manipulating the supply but the demand has to be there to begin with. If nobody wants your product the supply doesn't matter. When something is in high demand companies try and make as much as possible to sell and make as much money as they can. With respect to gunpowder there are only a few plants actually making it and they have a production limit to how much they can make. They just cant make enough to meet the demand yet. But barring another crisis it will get there. Problem is so many people got burned this time they are stock piling.

I don't know how people cannot accept what's going on. I wish we would stop making excuses for these companies like we think they really care about us. They are not working round the clock to keep up with Americans demands. Because our dumbases are gonna eat up whatever overpriced slop they turn out. Prices keep going up with limited availability l, yet we think we still control the market. We are stock piling it because of this. And manufacturers know it. You're being controlled, if you don't believe it than stop buying powder at over $50 a pound. I bet you can't.
We will pay what they want cuz they are manipulating supply. Bidenomics 101, this was the point of shutting down the economy. PS it's working....

Automobiles, homes and everything else is on that list including gas. This isn't just a reloading component thing. Nobody is going to stop buying gas and food and they have doubled as well. Apparently those companies don't care about us either.

Personally I'm more peaved at those other commodities being double the price than I am components.

I know a guy works at sierrra. They added a third shift. I think hornady did as well. They are basically working around the clock to try and keep up. I dont know what else they could do short of building a new facility which is too expensive. I guess people believe what they want to believe. I know this when there is money to be made companies will do all they can to maximize production. During covid one of our products was in high demand. The company spent a million bucks recommissioning idle equipment to increase output 25% because there was money to be made.

Labradar is done and they know it. Garmin released their unit and Labradar rushed to get their small one out. Knee jerk reaction. Garmin is the best.

I'm wondering if you're shooting now and going through more consumables now than you ever were? I'm not believing whatever I want, I'm simply explaining what has happened. When prices on consumables go down I will have faith that Hodgdon is working day in and day out to help get us what we need at fair prices. Until then I'm not believing it. They want to work less and make more just like everyone else in this new age economy. $62 a pound and continuing to go up is enough said.

Exactly. The manufactured crisis was the reason for labor and material "shortage." But was there ever a shortage of anything? No, people still don't want to work. If I could charge double what my rates were for a service and hire half as many people, you bet everyone is doing it. There's more motivation to do less and charge more than there ever has been.

We can agree to disagree and get this thread back on course. When prices start going down we can have this discussion again haha. But I'm not holding my breath.
