    7-08 Help

I had good luck loading a cut down 700 in 7MM/08 with Varget. Don't remember the load now but it's in the book. 140 grain Nosler not partition. The grandkids killed an antelope each and one deer all with one shot each. Zeke

One “Do it All Cartridge” - All of NA

I usually use a custom .338. I just picked up a Winchester model 70 Super Grade, maple in 7 MM Mag.. It's very accurate on paper don't have a clue what it will do on game. Zeke

What is your favorite rifle in your arsenal?

Custom .338 Win' Mag'. Sako action custom barrel and a custom stock made by a good friend in New Jersey. The gun shoots an inch and sometimes better at 100 yds. with a Nosler Partision in 225 grains. Shot quite a few Mule Deer with it. No complaint.

What’s your five? 5 Calibers to do it all...

You can kill anything in North America with a .270 Winchester. For varmints and small game you can reload varmint and squib loads. Zeke

    Anyone know what this is?

That is one beautiful rifle. The engraving is gorgeous, I'm kind of old school so I would love to have that exact gun with fine checkering instead of carving, but I'm not knocking it. That gun is lovely. Zeke

What is better than the Weatherby?

My Son shoots a .340 Weatherby with a break. It's very accurate is a sure killer and doesn't kick hard at all. If you won't use a break that's your problem not everyone's. Zeke

Any 35 Cal fans out there?

No question about it the .35 calibers are good guns. The .35 Remington is very popular here in Pa.. Hunters use the lever action Marlin and the Remington pump in .35 and are very fond of that caliber. The only trouble is that it's not very exciting it just kills things. Zeke

HELP! Custom rifle build, what cartridge???

I would say a 7 mm magnum or a 300 Winchester or the short .300. Make sure you get a muzzle brake with these calibers and they will be a pleasure to shoot. Zeke

    First PA Black Bear!!!

Nice talking to you Yobuck. Pennsylvania is a great place to live. It just upsets me that I have to go to New Jersey for an ocean. I'm not fond of New Jersey the most anti-gun state in the Union other than California, New York and Illinois I probably left a few out. Zeke

    First PA Black Bear!!!

They sound like some good old boys. My two kids hunt Pennsylvania and buy a non-resident bear license for New Jersey. They shoot a lot of black bears. My Grandson shot a 500 Lb. bear over in N.J. with his 20 gauge 1100 Remington. Their group shot 4 over in the Pocono's this season. Zeke

Which caliber for Remington 700 long action (3006 bolt face) rebarrel?

Why don't you add all of them up and do the one most recommended. Put me down for the 7 MM Ackley Improved. Zeke

    Sod Poodle caliber and cartridge

Probably you don't hear about the 6br more is because no one has ever heard of it. Like to see the kids face in Cabela's when you ask for a box of 6br. Zeke

    Sod Poodle caliber and cartridge

For an accurate cartridge easy to load, flat shooting and lots of power (for varmints) you can't beat the 22/250. Zeke
