    Scope leveling idea

I put a bubble level on the top turret cap and one on the rail and just match them up. Not 100% perfectly accurate down to the degree but c'mon, I'm still just shooting factory ammo ;)

Got a little floater in my Vortex scope

Well they ended up just sending me a new scope, 2 weeks from the day I mailed it til it showed up, very pleased! I see no reason to not keep buying Vortex scopes :) Handled just as I'd hoped it would be.

Things you wished you knew when you started?

The factory Savage brake is great; my Savage .338 Lapua is my absolute most favorite gun to shoot, always puts a smile on my face :) She is a boomer for sure! But for me it's part of what makes it fun. Just practice good form every time you squeeze the trigger on it and you'll do great. Which is...

    Which 300?

I love my Bergara B14 Hunter in 300 Win Mag. I bought this rifle as a hunting rifle, so I was looking at things like ammo availability anywhere I take it, and a nice weight, not too light or heavy. Shoots great too, recoil is easy peasy :) No complaints about the 300 Win Mag.

Oryx chassis for Tikka t3x in 300wsm

https://oryxchassis.com/us/oryx-bolt-action-rifle-chassis.html Looks like they offer them for Tikka, they don't come with magazines but they do sell them, and looks like they have distributors worldwide. I've been considering one for my Savage 10 as well, love the look and seems like a nice...

Got a little floater in my Vortex scope

Cleaning my .338 last night, happened to dial my magnification down on my scope and I see that extra little chunk of whatever on the right. Couldn't see it with the magnification dialed up. Scope is a Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50 FFP, and it's been on the gun for 36 shots. Never had a problem with...

So much for: "They don't build em' like they used to."

I have never been explained the purpose of breaking a barrel in; this thread has been very informative. I feel like I need to spend the weekend deep cleaning barrels and try actually doing a proper break in on them.

Should I send this back for warranty work?

This thread makes me miss my .308 Axis! I bedded mine and filled the forend with JB Weld to stiffen it up, put a lighter trigger spring in it, shot under an inch with SSA 175 gr, right at an inch with Lake City M80s, good gun for very little money. I would definitely get it warrantied and hang...

Did 6.5 PRC obsolete the 6.5 CM only to be made obsolete?

I've so far held out on getting a CM but I really like what I have seen and read of the PRC. Its capability suits me, it will fill the void between .308 and .300 Win Mag for me. It'll have to wait though, got a Savage brush hunter in .375 Ruger on layaway at Buds that needs to come home first :)...

    Hello!

I figured it was time to create an account, as every time I'm looking for info on a long range topic I end up here more often than not. I've been into long range shooting since I inherited my dad's Marlin 39a 30 years ago. I practiced incessantly with it at several different distances short and...
