    270 WSM Hornady brass issues

I haven't had the best of luck with Hornady brass. Too soft for my liking. Nosler, Winchester, & Federal have all been nice to work with in all the 270 WSM's I load for

    Federal 215 vs. 215M

They are supposedly the same primers, but are supposed to be more consistent. Shouldn't have any trouble switching BUT, as FEENIX eluded to, don't take chances. Especially if you're running at, near, or over book max loads. On a side note; I haven't been able to find 215's for nearly 6...

300 WSM Powder suggestions, where to start?

Unfortunately no tbrice, They came in before I got the speed I wanted, but they grouped so tight I just couldn't justify perusing the opening groups when I pushed it harder.

300 WSM Powder suggestions, where to start?

Feenix I was on a tight deadline all 4 times I was there. They don't let you take your time when you're in some of those areas. I was a civilian contractor and the USAF were the armed escort. Not a lot of room there to make conversation. We just kept our heads down, did our job, & went back home...

300 WSM Powder suggestions, where to start?

Haven't had any problems with hitting what I'm aiming at, but truth be told I haven't shot past 1100 yds with a chrono in crazy cold or stupid hot temps yet. I anticipate it being much less moody than RL-17 was.

300 WSM Powder suggestions, where to start?

Agreed. I remember when you were working a few of those up Feenix. I was using RL-17 with 180 Accubonds at light speed, but the brass life was Really short! That stuff has a pressure curve that goes from flat & boring to STRAIT UP in a hurry! But if you want blistering speed with a 180...

    Scopes that did not disappoint

Leopold line of VX-3's, VX-3tactical, VX-3i's & the new VX-6!! Wow! The VX-6 blows the competition out of the water. I've literally bought Leupold scopes, everywhere from brand new at Sportsmans or Cabellas, to used on LRH, & even craigslist, then sent them in to Leupold for a different...

Killing chipmunks is about to get serious damnit!

Throw a Leupold or a Burris on it. BB guns/ Air rifles have forward recoil & will completely destroy lesser scopes & even a few good ones. But the above two mentioned will handle forward recoil, & you'll be back to smokin critters, instead of swapping glass & getting frustrated. Hi Roy!!

300 WSM Long Action Build - Input Welcomed

You'll enjoy your 300WSM on a L/A platform. It's a real Ferrari when you give it all the advantages. Long bbl. Long throat. Long Action. Lots of room in the mag. 180 AB's & 200 AB's both shoot quite well, & now that I FINALLY have my hands on some 190 ABLR's I'm hoping I have found the...

First Focal Plane Vs. Second Focal Plane Scopes

Thanks John. There are a lot of misconceptions between the two, & it's nice to have an article for referencing if there is any confusion.

    Leupold or Vortex

+1 Leupy all the way for me personally. Great glass, Proven reputation, longevity of the company, products, & warranty, & the ability to change reticles, or turrets, or any number of things from the custom shop along with the quality control & rigorous testing to back up their warranty makes it...

Agreed Thanks for the insight. I'm looking at one for my little ones for their "Youth Mentor" hunts.
