Problems with Vortex Viper HS-T flaring out/whiting out

I switched to Leupold and am very happy, Vortex in my experience was just a headache.

Problems with Vortex Viper HS-T flaring out/whiting out

Had same problem, it's the lack of lens coatings. You get white out when looking towards sunset after dusk. Replacements will give same results. Anyone have Vipers walk off target several inches? Did this new and then after repair. Noticed a smear of I'm guessing glue in the tube by the internal...

    Toughest scope rings?

Lapping rings has to do with the receiver surface if not parallel and at the same height front and rear. I suppose very cheap rings may not be exact.

    Toughest scope rings?

Leupold rings, the STD ones. The rear you can adjust left and right to put your scope parallel to the axis of the bore and the front pivots accordingly. great for heavy recoiling calibers. The single screw on either side allows the ring to center on the scope and properly torque. The double...

The old 25-06 Remington and 270 Winchester shot flatter than 6.5 CM

Creedmoor fits in an AR 10 and now adopted by the US mil. Without either it would not be so popular.

    Need some guidance..

on a howitzer and on a target rifle there are different advantages to a brake, none for a hunting rifle that I see.

    Need some guidance..

why is a muzzle brake important to you? Is the recoil really this heavy?

also game ears are just added equip and cost and something that can fail

    Need some guidance..

You need to hear the game and the sounds you make walking, brakes only lessen recoil and you're not using a 458 Win Mag

    Need some guidance..

why a muzzle brake? You don't feel the shot while hunting but with a brake you will hurt your ears. Only ones supporting muzzle brakes for hunting are the ones selling them.

    Need some guidance..

I killed an elk with a Ford Sable but don't recommend it. The .308 is good for anything in North America. Having a rifle chambered with a newer cartridge only creates problems such as forgetting to pack your ammo or wasn't allowed to take ammo with you. Few places carry this stuff in remote...

    Need some guidance..

Creedmoore is not any better than the Swiss 6.5x55. Creedmoore only developed to fit in AR platform. Spend less and the Swiss 6.5 is a very capable cartridge. This constant selling of new and overpriced cartridges only takes more $$ from your pockets.

    What 7 to build ?

Don't get caught up with the marketing of expensive cartridges. All the hype is to sell you about the same performance for more $$. The 7mm Rem Mag is an all round cartridge with long range capabilities. 180gr bullets are no problem for it. You can buy loaded ammo about anywhere and that is good...

6.5 Creedmoor The Ultimate Long Range Varmint and Coyote Rifle?

Muzzle brakes can be easily machined with a good profit margin hence why so much advertising is spent on them. Hype with brakes and new calibers. Physics does not change so new cartridges cannot become magically superior to much earlier smokeless cartridges. The market is youth who do not have...
