Same as the .500 WE case? It has the belt to head space on. As far as the internet shows, it is considered a straight walled case. Some .50 subs use a belted case, but maybe only for the needed body diameter. Head space made possible with the belt, having no shoulder.

If you handload, try the 70 grain Speer .22 out of a fast twist AR. They do work on 150 lb plus deer. Sierra makes a 63 grain varmint bullet, but may be too thin of a jacket. Barnes makes a 62 and 70 TSX.

only thing i have really heard about on thin skinned bullets in a .454 is stacking or collapse issues. something about the bullet diameter "increases" at higher velocity and raising chamber pressures. original freedom arms bullets were supposed to be thicker and harder than "normal" jacket material.
