Being that this is a long range site, be sure you and your guide agree on maximum allowable distance for shooting a bear. Years past, I've hunted Kodiak and AkPen and I tend to prefer AkPen. In the past few years I've referred 4 L48 friends to Phil Shoemaker and all 4 came away with good bears.

Your 300 is just fine providing it is ultra reliable and durable. It should fit you like a fine shotgun and don't hang a lot of crap on it that will hang up in the alders.....ammo pouches etc. If it's got a floor plate, glue it shut or duct tape it. Your scope cover should be easy and water...

i've got three of em and consider it perfect for wolves with 108 eldm........if taking coyotes with facing chest shot there is no fur damage. taking a broadside shoulder shot ruins hide. if hunting coyotes only i'd be looking at a harder bullet in about 70 gr class.

The demand for fly-in hunts exceeds the supply. The better flight services can be difficult to get booked with as they often are booked with repeat customers from the previous years. Because of this demand, you can expect prices to rise. For the Kotzebue Area, I'd look at Golden Eagle...

I've got two Fieldcrafts and a Ruger in 6CM and all shoot well with Hornady factory 108 ELDM loads as well as with my handloads of 108ELDM over 40 grs RL16. I switched one FC over to 95 LRX again over 40 grs RL16.
