For what it's worth, I have christensen, Bergara, proof etc... my go to is a tikka 7mm for hunting (lopes, deer, elk) smoothest shooter/action imo;)

Shot my antelope this year in NV as well with a 7mm mag. Wasnt planning on a 565 yd shot, but the lopes weren't cooperating this year lol. Got him on the way back to camp so was really an "awe f it shot". Ended up busting him in the front leg, so follow up shot was rather easy truth be told ;)

To me, 7mm mag simply kicks softer than say 308 3006. I realize physics says this isnt true, but truly my personal fit. To me, the "boom" had a deeper sound as well (seems better to me ears). Just seems like a smooth fire, hard to explain. I have 308, 3006, 300wn, 338, 338 lapua etc, can...

Bergara tolerances are "overly" tight in my opinion. I have a premier series (B18 mtn?) and brand new, out of the box, ejection issues. Great customer service though. In a deep drive to find the issue, I saw a little sliver of brass got tied up in the ejector. They sent me a new bolt head...

308. We shot a monster 2 yrs ago, used a 338 then. I shot a bull 3 yrs ago with a 7mm; 400 yds never took a step. Shot plenty of cow with a 308 before moving to 338. All really depends on shot placement. Ps always wanna be aware of how far ya gotta hike the quarters back though; terrain...

Not to hijack the thread to a christensen bash, but I now remember I had a ca15 with a defective cam pin. Gouged the side and prevented cycle. Replaced with a roller cam and works fine. Called them up to let them know the issue and fix. Response was " cool anything else we can help u with"...
