6mm Creedmore bullet choice (108m/105berger/108 Berger) target gun

I'm shooting a pointed 115 at 2830 from a 22" tube. With pointing I'm using .310 for the g7 to match my drops. I could get more speed, but it is very consistent which was more important for me.

TBAC Ultra 5.30 Barrel Adapter Search

You could also look at the area 419 system. They make adapters for the thunder beasts. I had a friend who used that system for his and it was very slick. He could switch between the can and an area 419 brake depending on what he wanted to optimize very easily.

Might join the PRS / NRL22 group. Need help

I shot the Mason Dixon series for a few years when I was in the dc area. At that time there were several very good shooters and you can learn a lot. Personally I found the matches at Gap and Mayberry more challenging than matches I’ve shot at other venues. At that time, they were not using...

    6 ARC Question

There’s a YouTube channel Frontline Rejects that does some long range water jug tests. They might have done an eldx. See what you think of the performance at distance. I regularly take my ARC to 600 practicing on steel. I use the 108. Usually I set my distance based on velocity, but in this...

    Which 6.5?

Another vote for the 6.5x55 AI. I run a short action version, the 6.5 Addiction. Running the 6.5x55AI in a long action would be a lot of fun. Even running a short action, I'm still running very close to what you'll find online for a 6.5x284. I'm pushing a 127 Barnes LRX at 3040 and a Berger...

    ELD X

I load the 230 x in a 338 wm. I push those in the mid 2800 for speed. I've shot whitetail from 100'ish to about 325. It is very explosive. Shot a buck quartering away at about 150 and got no exit. That deer only went about 30 feet so it wasn't hard to find. I've only lost 1 animal that I shot...

Guide shoots to 600 yds after watching backfire.

I think it’s good that people are looking at these challenges and trying them. The next step is learning from it. Even at the end of the backfire video, the shooter didn’t seem ready to acknowledge the more practical limitations. A lot of people don’t want to do competitions or don’t shoot...

    Light 7mm bullets for Coyote?

I'm just getting started and I tried my match load for my 6ARC which is a 108 ELDM at 2530fps. I've shot whitetail with 6.5 ELDM and the loads were very explosive very quick, but mostly internal. I guessed 6ARC and this load would be roughly the same. It wasn't. I ended up getting a 35 yd...

Seems like a great choice for pigs

I'm not good enough to get a head or neck after the first shot. Maybe a subsonic 308 for the first shot. But then I get to follow up with more 308.

    Shooting Suppressed - Improved Accuracy

I like shooting with a suppressor better because there is less noise and concussion over the brakes I used previously. However, the suppressor can make a difference. I developed a load for a rifle using one suppressor that was very heavy and worked with a specific brake. Then went to a...

    6.5 X 284 Bullet - Target

I run a 6.5 Addiction, which seems to hit the same nodes as the 6.5x284. I run the 140 Berger Hybrid 2950 in a 26" barrel with H4831. When I point them, I use a .320 G7 for the BC.

Length of pull with some aftermarket stocks and whats your preferred LOP

When I started shooting everyone was taught to stand bladed to the rifle and lay angled to the rifle. Now everything is taught and shot square for prone, barricades, and tripods. The rifles that I set up based on bladed from 20 years ago are about 1/2" too long for me to be comfortable...

    6mm Creedmoor

Oh I could get faster with something like leverrevolution or cfe, but then I'd need to keep more track of the temp. I saw the same thing shooting the factory loads when I first started out. On very hot days, I had pressure problems. But I was close to 2700. Cold days no issue with pressure...

    6mm Creedmoor

For a small 6 bolt gun, I'd get something in the 6br family. Small groups seem to be ridiculously easy. For PRS matches and some hunting with plinking a bit, 6 Creedmoor. I have a 6 Creedmoor bolt gun. I run 115 Berger 2840 from a 22" barrel. When I checked the sd spread that charge was the...

    Pre-fits…what’s the verdict?

I've gotten prefits for a Sako TRG when I had it. I've used multiple Remage (not true "prefit" as the headspace is nut set). Also, I ran through a couple barrels on Ruger RPR (again not full prefit). I have gotten the same level of accuracy from most of these barrels as I have from full...
