    Remington Barrel Oddity

I'm hoping it will prove to shoot OK despite the irregularity. I doubt Remington would consider replacing it unless it shoots horribly. Has anyone else seen this on Rem. bbrls?

    Remington Barrel Oddity

I have a Rem. 700 in 338 Ultra that has a weird pattern of "waves" in the bbrl. It appears to be only on the bottom of the grooves, not on the lands. What's up? Some kind of tooling chatter when it was hammer forged? Is this common? Will it affect accuracy? Thx! TS

Leupold RXB-IV digital laser range finding binocular

I tried the link posted for reviews but it wouldn't work. Can someone post it again pls? I've looked at the Leicas and they're pretty nice and probably worth the $ but I sure wish they had the inclinometer! Does anyone else offer a quality rangefinding binocular that DOES have an inclinometer...

    Precision Reloading Die Choice

I posted this elsewhere so some of you have probably seen this, but I wanted the opinion of the LRH members. I'm looking to upgrade from "standard" dies for a couple of rifles and need some advice. I've been looking at what both Redding and Forester have to offer and like the looks of both...

    Cocentric bullet seating

Folks; Thanks loads for your advice. I do indeed get the odd one that is pretty straight and the next one will be 10/1000 out. I will try your suggestions and will probably start with a good Forester in-line seater. Just so you know, even the "bad" ones will average under 5/8 out of my bone...

    Cocentric bullet seating

Sometimes I wonder if buying a cocentricity gauge was such a great idea, being blissfully unaware has its merits! My question relates to a problem I'm having seating light (therefore short)flat base bullets straight in my 6mm Rem. Using normal RCBS FL dies I can get fairly straight cases (less...

    Gain Twist Barrels

I've been considering rebarreling my Rem. 700 30-06 with a Ron Smith gain twist bbrl. Claims are that you will gain another 100-150 fps. and that the bbrl. will be more forgiving of bullet weight, ie. give decent accuracy with a broader range of bullet wts. Anybody have first hand experience...

    Barnes XLC

Anybody out there have much experience with the Barnes coated bullets? Their manual claims and shows velocity increases of up to 200fps. over their non-coated bullets of the same weight. Is this realistic? How good is their coating re. fouling etc.? Does it share some of the reported concerns...

    6.5-284 twist rate

Thank's everybody! I discussed it further with my gunsmith and he says his 8 twist 6.5-284s and 6.5x55s handle the lighter stuff just fine.

    6.5-284 twist rate

I'm still in a bit of a quandry regarding the correct twist rate for a 6.5-284 I'm having built. I've settled on a Shilen but can't decide if I should go 1:8 or 1:9. I know the 1:8 is preferred for 140s and I would like the ability to shoot them if I wish, but realistically I will be shooting...
