Thanks for your reply. I'm new to this whole modified factory firearm stuff so ok 28 oz is pretty light to me and that would be fine. A dbm seems to me to be a good option for versatility. Realistically I've only had one with it. It's ok and convenient for setting up for the hunt with preloaded...

Style dbm and grip preference aren't important to me. I'm adaptable. Position I hunt from varies also...most of the time I stand hunt but spot and stalk happens when the weather gets to warm for much movement. So it to varies. Budget is flexible. If I see something I like and is a real good fit...

Really? M700 Gen II R5 gave me this results...I kinda think it' ok..at least for me in 260 Remington. 3 shot group 2699 ft/s.

I've been running Vv N550 in a 10 twist .308 and a 8 twist in a 260 Remington ( both M700BDL heavy barrel). The 260 did wonderful EXCEPT at 20 thou off the lands it doesn't fit the mag well. The .308 did well also but at 40 thou off the lands. Someone told me the Vv brand are barrel...
