Ya thats been my biggest problem is that it seems like thats what it originally was built for was for lower grain bullets to go super fast. It shoots 250 smk's right now at 3175 fps but those bullets are horrible for BC's.

Hey thank you very much, thats a lot of help. Seems like everyone that has one really liked the 50bmg powder but they discontinued that powder. I shoot retumbo an h1000 in my lapua's and thought it might be a little fast for that big of a case. What are you running for OAL?

I'll check it out, ya I keep running in too loads with 50bmg but hodgen discontinued it.

I have Jamison brass, stamped 338 EXCAL. The 338 Allen cases must be the bigger one.

Good evening Autorotate, one of gentlemen said you use to have an Excalibur. Trying to find some load data for it. Me an my dad had two built an we want to shoot 300gr Berger’s or RMB out of them. Running 26” proof barrel and black heart international action.

Thank you, I’ve read his stuff before. The raptor case is almost 20gr more the the Excalibur I believe but I never have seen him post anything about shooting the Excalibur or building loads for it.

Is anyone shooting 338 excalibur's? Trying to find some load data for 300gr bergers. Three of us bought these rifles at sci a few years ago an trying to change loads. Unfortunately the person that built them isn't in Buisness no more.
